Kate Chopin is an American author that lived between 1850 to 1904. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri. Kate acquired her education from St. Louis Academy of Sacred Heart. She grew up bilingual and bi-cultural and experienced a lot of trauma which influenced her work. Kate married her husband, Oscar Chopin, in 1870 and they spent their time in New Orleans where they raised their family. She created two novels and hundreds of short stories throughout her career. Kate Chopin died in 1904 after lapsing into unconsciousness.
