In chapter 21 of the novel,” The Awakening,” written by Kate Chopin, Edna finally finds Mademoiselle Reisz’s house and visits her. Edna notices that Mademoiselle Reisz looked homely. Mademoiselle Reisz informs Edna that Robert had sent her a letter “though the letter might as well have been sent to Edna.” (Chopin, page 105). Edna was finally allowed to read the letter from Robert. In it was a request from Robert to Mademoiselle Reisz to play Edna an interlude that was his new favorite. Mademoiselle Reisz played the interlude as Edna read the letter. Leaving emotional, Edna asked Mademoiselle Reisz if she can soon visit again.
