Chapter 20:

In chapter 20 of,” The Awakening,” written by Kate Chopin, Edna, when she was feeling quite blue, wanted to see out Mademoiselle Reisz to listen to her wonderful piano playing. Unfortunately, Edna had misplaced the card with her address on it so she had to find it out herself. She visited Madame Lebrun’s home to see if she could be of any help. Upon arrival Victor, Robert’s 19 year old brother, greeted Edna. While waiting for Madame Lebrun the two chatted on the porch. ” The youngster amused Edna.” (Chopin, page 101). Victor was flirting with her and Edna, feeling as if she was partaking in a crime, tried to look disapprovingly.  Robert had sent two more letters Edna was disappointed to find that he did not leave her any special messages. Madame Lebrun gave Edna Mademoiselle Reisz’s address and Victor walked her back towards her car, still flirting and giggling. After Edna leaves, Victor exclaims to his mother how wonderful Mrs. Pontellier looked and said that she seems like she is a different woman now.
