Chapter 31:

In chapter 31 of,” The Awakening,” written by Kate Chopin, Arobin and Edna locked up the big house and made their way to Edna’s pigeon house. Edna is surprised to find dozens of flowers around her new home that were sent by Arobin. Exhausted by the last couple of days and drained from her emotions, Edna basically lays on the table as she tells Arobin goodnight. Arobin sits next to her and begins kissing her shoulder as he tells Edna goodnight. This night the two become lovers as Edna became “supple to his gentle, seductive entreaties.” (Chopin, page 154).
