In chapter 12 of,” The Awakening,” written by Kate Chopin, Edna wakes up after a troubled slumber and decides that she wants to go to Church. She makes the little girl that works for Madame Leburn wake up Robert because she wants him to go with her. Robert is flattered that she called for him because she never would have done that. They both have a cup of coffee and a roll and head to the boat that will take them over to Cheniere Caminada. On the boat Robert speaks to Mariequita and she asks him if Edna is his sweetheart. He only says that she is married with two children. She tells him a story about a man that ran away with a married woman and Robert quickly hushes her because he was embarrassed. On the rest of the boat ride Robert and Edna discuss their plans for the following days. When they get off of the boat they all head to the Catholic Church, Our Lady of Lourdes.
