Chapter 29:

In chapter 29 of,” The Awakening,” written by Kate Chopin, Edna began rapidly packing up all of her belongings to bring over to her “pigeon house, she calls it this because it’s so small and looks like a pigeon house.” (Chopin, page 142). Edna does this without telling Mr. Pontellier. Arobin comes over to visit and finds Edna slaving on a ladder trying to take the photos off of the wall. He is repulsed by what he sees and insists that he do the work for her. After Arobin is done he asks Edna if he can see her before the “Coup d etat” (Chopin, page 143), but she tells him no while giggling and giving him a seductive look that implies that it will be worth the wait.
