Chapter 8:

In chapter 8 in,” The Awakening,” written by Kate Chopin, Madame Ratignolle had faked not feeling well in order to get Robert alone. She advised him to leave Edna alone rather than act as if he has feelings for her. Robert takes offense to this and angrily states that he isn’t a womanizer like Alcee Arobin. Robert leaves Adele for his mother’s room after making sure she was comfortable and had a drink accompanied with her. Madame Lebrun, Robert’s mother, tells him that a letter from Montel arrived for him that says that he wants Robert to join him at the beginning of next month. Robert gets distracted once he sees Edna returning from the beach with the children and runs after her hoping to meet up with her.
